   'Moonshadow'

This hanging was originally designed to be a workshop project, 'Tantalising Torchon'.  The premise was to explore the control of colour and texture by the use of stitch and add surface decoration while working the lace. Three different weights of thread were used around 70 pairs.  Jan will be teaching this workshop again next year at Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds.

'After the Bonfire'  .

This work was inspired by the way smoke from the remains of a bonfire behaves when the cold night air presses on the warm smoke pushing it down to flow along the ground.

Wiltshire Sunset tries to capture a winter's sunset as seen from my back garden.  The background is painted silk and the skeletal trees are made in very simple techniques using silk and metallic threads.

These are some new works based on the wonderful winter sunsets as photographed from our bungalow. There is a large rookery in the tall trees in the trees at the back and the birds come home each night often leaving it to the very last bit of light.  They make an interesting feature of the sunset. there is always a lot of cawing and chattering from the birds as they make themselves comfortable for the night.

These are approximately A4 in size. I hope to make a series of these works in various sizes.  Here are some photos that may well be used.

Both After the Bonfire and Wiltshire Sunset were exhibited at The Lace Guild AGM 2007as part of the 98 Lace Group's display

These are two of the new ranges of wire jewellery that I have developed this year.  The picture on the left is of pendants made by encapsulating dichroic glass in wire lace.  The pendant on the right is called Jewel Island and one of a series of wire lace pendants that have a Crystal at their heart.

The patterns for these two necklaces can be found in the Pattern section of our Catalogue
