The lace called Bedfordshire is a plaited lace and was made in large quantities commercially.  It has distinct features and techniques of plaits leaves, meandering trails and in its floral mode, plants and animals can be found.

This series of three Day Schools will cover the majority of the techniques needed to make this interesting lace.

The first session will enable the student to get to grips with plaits, picots, leaves and simple crossings.

In the second Bedfordshire Day School interconnecting trails and embellishments to the lace are investigated.

The third day will introduce the students to the floral aspects of the lovely lace together with some simple raised work.

However, each Day School is complete in itself so can be used as a single workshop for each level of ability.

Jan has patterns available to accommodate all levels of skill.

If you are interested in this Workshop please indicate so on the form on the page above.
